Technical Meeting in Athens
The technical meeting was organized in Athens with representatives from all the sending organizations (at least one sport educator from each organisation was present) as well as with key stakeholders that will be involved in Par-OLYMPIA Event, with the aim of organizing the preparation activities of the sport event.
16 participants from 11 sending organisations arrived in Athens on 18th May. The core meeting activities took place on 19th of May in two (2) sessions (morning session and afternoon Workshop).
Purpose of the Technical meeting was to organize the preparation activities of the Par-OLYMPIA sport event that will be held in the Olympic Athletic Centre of Athens 27th Sept. – 4th Oct. 2023.
The event aimed at:
- All sending organisations to get familiar with the Venue and the Hotels
- Setting the methodology to recruit the participants of the Par-OLYMPIA Event
- Setting the standards to assemble staff /& volunteers
- Determining expected attendance
- Considering special enquiries
The morning session was including two activities (site visits): Hotels site visit and Venue site Visit. Examining the venues in person allowed country representatives to make note of the advantages and limitations of what’s available.
The afternoon session was consisted by a Technical Workshop. The workshop took place in the offices of Hellenic Paralympic Committee OAKA Olympic Aquatic Centre – Ground floor. Spyrou Loui, Avenue 15123 Maroussi, Athens, Greece.
The goals of the workshop were to:
- Define the characteristics of participants
- Set the strategy to recruit the participants
- Ensure a common way of reporting
- Set the standards to assemble staff /& volunteers
- Determine expected attendance
- Get prepared for special enquires
